Frequently Asked Questions

About the Blog

Q: What is Concert Clown?

A: Concert Clown is a resource blog site, which specializes in creating comprehensive and user intuitive resources!

Q: What resources does Concert Clown make?

A: We make calendars, transit maps, a band index, and coverage of basic venue information! (We are also working on expanding our resources.)

About the Genres/Artists Featured

Q: Why didn’t you list (insert artist)?

A: The answer will always be one of two reasons.
Either they are playing at a larger venue, which we don’t cover.

Or we missed the listing. (Having to search through around 40 venues’ event calendars, it can be hard to catch everything.)

Q: The Band Index page seems limited in info. Are there plans to change this?

A: Absolutely! Unfortunately, the original blog had a glitch, which lost our collection of hundreds of artists’ social links.

The current version of the index is just a placeholder until the mod can make a proper setup with genre tags and summaries.

Q: Why are the majority of the links on the Band Index for Bandcamp specifically?

A: Our mod personally prefers buying over streaming. Bandcamp gives users the ability to listen through albums before buying.

However, it’s really important to our mod that those using her resources try to support the bands they listen to through album and merch sales.

For the Artists

Q: What genres does Concert Clown cover?

A: Concert Clown cover genres like industrial, goth, post-punk, synthpop, synthwave, and many other dark/electronic music genres.

Essentially, if it’d be played at an industrial night, goth night, used in a horror movie, or scifi film, it will likely get featured here.

Q: I’m in a band! Can I get my show covered on your calendar?

A: Absolutely! If your band is in one of the darker genres we cover, please feel free to send us a submission to our Calendar Update Form!

Q: Will you exclude bands/artists you don’t personally like?

A: Not at all! While we may have preferences or even strong opinions of specific artists, we aim for an unbias platform to the best of our abilities.

About the Main Moderator

Q: Does the main moderator attend shows?

A: Yes, she does go to a few shows! Unfortunately due to health issues that are strained when attending concerts, she has to be selective of how often she goes out.

*please note: Our mod has directional hearing damage and can neither tell where sound is coming from, nor hear sound in front of her if there is sound behind her. (She’s not ignoring you, we promise!!)

Q: Who runs Concert Clown?

A: The main moderator is our founder Crowellyn Woods. She is our illustrator, resource creator, information curator… She does most of the work, but relies on a few trusted individuals to help her get information for other areas. (She is also our irl mascot at shows primarily in the Seattle area!)
